The Sprite Clearing is a small map with no Puzzle. Its purpose is to give you an infodump of both your first challenge (the poisoned stream), and the important background information about bonding with red sprites.
In particular, two people before you have bonded with red sprites. You (the player) know from the cut scenes that the wizard is one of them.
